SIXTEENTH YEAR,

Order of Christian Workers
will be providing the
ANNUAL CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
for
OVER 400 KIDS!

Homeless kids, terribly poor kids, sick kids,
scared kids, immigrant kids, hoping kids…
in other words,
kids who don’t “qualify” for other agencies’ programs.
SO…SIMPLY:
IT’S UP TO YOU!
Just think of it:
you get to provide a “Santa gift,”
plus clothing, shoes, and added presents,
simply by “adopting” one or more children…
and you can provide some holiday family meals as well!

This is an update of the recent progress for the
Order of Christian Workers’
SIXTEENTH
ANNUAL CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY

which includes multiple “Santa gifts,” clothing, and food
for our annual goal of
400+ kids
(Homeless kids, terribly poor kids, sick kids, scared kids, hoping kids…
in other words,
kids who don’t “qualify” for other agencies’ programs)

As of today,
147 children have been “adopted”
[which means we’re behind by 23% from last year at this time]

So, if you haven’t “adopted” one or more children,
PLEASE consider the possibility!

Gentle Ones,

Some important matters:

First:
We still need to get sponsors for 58 kids [out of 400+] for the
Sixteenth Annual O.C.W.
Children’s Christmas Party,
which will take place on Saturday, 12/13, at 10 a.m.
All the information that you might need
[or a friend might need, if you forward this]

We are presently “behind” last year’s adoptions
by about 30%,
but we’re forging ahead in wrapping the last
170 multiple-gift boxes this coming Saturday
[THANK YOU, dedicated elves!!!]…and a
BIG THANK YOU
also to all of you who have adopted already!

Second:
HEARTFELT THANKS
to each and all of you who commemorated
World AIDS Day on December 1st,
not only here, but throughout the country—
and a lot of kids are still affected by that….

Third:
We will be taking tons of kids [and families]
on our annual trek to
Santaland
—through a landscape of literally a million lights—
(and you should see the children’s faces!)
on this Friday, December 5, at 6:30 p.m.,
so if you didn’t know about this, simply come to Sanctuary
to pile into the trucks and huge hay wagon!
[and thanks to Leo, once again, for his kindness]

Fourth:
The next ten days
will again be absolute pandemonium, as we do our final preparations for the Party…
so please excuse us if we’re hard to find!

We have lots of new [and veteran] volunteers who have given hundreds of hours helping us…
plus Companions from other states and Texas locales!

My, oh my…how blessed we
—and especially the children—
