My name is Matt, known here as Enemy's Ox. I am very
grateful to Troy for including the Health & Wellness forum. In this section,
I hope to exchange our personal insights into subjects such as
nutrition, supplements, exercise, alternative medicines and therapies, motivational techniques and thoughts on general well-being. Primarily, I would like us to
share with each other some of what has worked for us. Personally, I'm proud
to say that my health has come a long way in a very short time. I think I
have some good information to share - and I want to read about yours!
While much of what I hope to contribute here may apply to the general
population, topics should be centered around the GLBTQ community and
especially those with particular health concerns such as, but not
limited to HIV/AIDS and coping with side effects of medications.
A physician can talk to you all day long about treating your side
effects, but sometimes it really helps to talk to someone who has or is going
through what you are experiencing. Often, our biggest obstacle is just getting
through the day. It is my hope that we can all benefit by sharing
our mutual experiences.
Disclaimer: If you're a doctor, please say so in your posting -- but
otherwise, you should be aware that advice posted here is anecdotal --
which just means you should probably talk to a doctor before making ANY
drastic changes in your health regimen. Still, I think we have a lot of pretty
good advice among us - so that's why this forum was started.
With that said and in mind, I hope to see this and all other forums
flourish. The more you constructively contribute by posting and asking
questions, the stronger our community will become.

East Texas does not have to be a place where you must live in fear
and/or ignorance. Educate yourself, love and respect yourself, and know that
our greatest strength is in numbers. These forums have been designed to
protect your privacy. Post to topics with confidence, whether it is
occasionally or often.
Every bit of your involvement counts. - enemysox (moderator)
