Videos - Joe Salmonese on Stephen Colbert!

Here's a place to put jokes, anecdotes & anything else that tickles your funny bone that you also want to share with others. Now I know there are a gazillion great jokes out there, so let's try to keep a couple of guidelines in mind: First, please avoid off-color jokes, meaning everything should be G-Rated and not ethnically offensive. Second, please keep within the tridd forums interest areas, meaning politics, GLBT humor, etc. I know this is a potentially dangerous experiment adding a "humor" forum, so please let's keep everything in good taste, so that we can keep this forum open!

Thanks - Troy

Joe Solmonese on The Colbert Report
February 07, 2008
by Chris Johnson

So last night Joe Solmonese was on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" to kick off a new segment on the wildly popular political gagfest called "Better Know a Lobbyist." Joe and Stephen must have found lots to gab about during Colbert's hour-long interview with Joe right before the Christmas holidays because the second part of their joust will air tonight. Here's the video from last night's segment. The last few seconds are a riot!

The show airs on Comedy Central at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT and repeats at 8:30 a.m.; 2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. the following day.

There are 2 parts -

Part 1 is below or at this link:

Part 2 is at the following link:

Ha! Those really were pretty funny. I'm not sure how Solmonese kept a "straight" face through much of that. Colbert has had some other good gay segments, but somehow, I missed this. Thanks for posting, Troy. What a great way to start my morning.

I think this also shows us how important it is for us (or anyone, really) to be able to laugh at ourselves. There are plenty of things about myself and my life that I consider sacred, but at the same time, many of them are also hilarious.

I'm glad you liked it, Ox. Personally, I'm of the "nothing is sacred, because everything is sacred" (or vice versa) school -- meaning only that I'm happiest when I don't take myself too seriously.

I hear ya! The only problem I've encountered with this way of thinking is an occasional accidental offense to someone who isn't of like-mind. Perspective is a serious thing, indeed, especially via the internet.

I never watch the Colbert Report (because it is at 10:30, and I am old) but I did watch it this because Joe was the guest. I had my dogs barking because I laughed so hard.

Blessings,
