First of all, let me say how wonderful it was to meet many of you at the dinner earlier this evening.

I moved to east Texas three years ago from Houston. I have always viewed myself as a bit of an anachronism--I really enjoy watching classic movies and listening to pop standards from the '30's to the '50's. You know, the kind of sappy or romantic movie or song where the ending is seemingly always a happy one.... I guess growing up it was a form of escapism for me. Now, even though I am older and hopefully wiser, I still enjoy this part of my childhood. Let me tell ya, if Doris Day comes on the tv or radio, everything else just has to stop for a moment. It doesn't get much gayer than that! lol

I recently started attending St. Gabriel's Community Church in Tyler, and I must say the welcome could not have been warmer or more loving. I came to the conclusion that I need to get my relationship with God back on track, and I know in my heart that God has led me to St. Gabriel's for just that purpose.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you and (OKAY GUYS, ALL TOGETHER NOW) ♫♫ getting to know you, getting to know all about you....♫♫ :)

Much love,

Nathan

Getting to like you, getting to hope you like me, haven't you noticed , suddenly I'm bright and breezy because of all the beautiful and new things I'm learning, about you, day by day.

Hello, Nathan and welcome. I'm sorry Dwight and I couldn't attend last night but the doctor put me to bed with bronchitis and I wouldn't have been much fun. Anyhoo, hope to meet you, in person, soon.

Blessings,
Dwight & Gerry

Whatever you did for the least of one of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.

Hi Nathan...I am the number ONE Doris Day fan of all time so you and I are gonna have to talk! I met Miss. Day in Carmel, California , I actually went hunting for her at the Albertsons Grocery Store there because I had heard that was where she shopped and after just hanging around for about 20 minutes I heard her laughter as she was talking to the store manager...a laugh that was unmistakably Doris! My heart stopped and after collecting my nerves I finally approached her and I got a couple of autographs and a picture or two. I told her I hated to bother her while she was shopping but...anywho, I digress, welcome! Wish I could recall where you were sitting....was that you sitting next to me? I was the bald guy..Did you sit next to Tam/Tom? OK, anyway, welcome...:)

Hey Nate~

Great to see ya here, babe! :D
You have been a friend and part of my family for years now. Sorry I did not get a chance to see you at dinner. I was stuck up on top of the roof. It took me a little longer to put up the christmas lights than expected. Talk with you soon.

Love~

I am so jealous, Steve! You actually got to meet Doris! That is so awesome! I don't remember exactly when I became such a big fan of hers, only that I was pretty young. Watching one of her films or listening to one of her songs can always put a smile on my face. :D I never realized what a versatile actress she was until I saw her in "Love Me or Leave Me" and "Storm Warning." She could do both comedy and drama; she could dance and sing. She could do it all!! There are a couple of websites relating to all things Doris in case you haven't heard about them. One is www.dorisdaytribute.com and the other is www.dorisday.net.

Anyway, it was really good to meet you and your partner (btw, I was sitting to your right at dinner Saturday night).

Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Hugs,

Nathan

Hi there doll face! I LOVE " The Thrill Of It All" It is my fave! The Glass Bottom Boat, Julie, Midnight Lace, etc etc...I just love them all and will watch anything Doris. Yes, I think that was the luckiest day of my life. She was everything I wanted her to be and more. If you ever come over I will show you my autographs and pics...she was kind enough to let me take a pic of her in Albertsons!! And I am a member of The Doris Day Pet Foundation and have been on the sights you sent me, thanks... She has a Christmas Album that is gorgeous! If you don't have it, get it. If you do have it, when you here the song "Snowfall" then please think of me cuz that is my favorite. I have lots of her CDs and some LPs and all her movies on DVD and tape. You will have to come over and watch some Doris with me. I am thrilled to have found another big fan and to think we were sitting next to each other and didn't even know it! I have stayed at her hotel in Carmel ( The Cyprus Inn) several times and met her son Terry Melcher there. He has since passed away. He was also really nice. She has a little cocktail lounge in her hotel and all pets are welcome and they have all her movie posters and play her music...it is awesome! Anyway, I will quit filling your ear up with all my Doris memories. I could go on and on and on and on and on and on.... :D Don't get me started on Ms. Day!!!! :)
Peace and love,
