First of all, let me say how wonderful it was to meet many of you at the dinner earlier this evening.
I moved to east Texas three years ago from Houston. I have always viewed myself as a bit of an anachronism--I really enjoy watching classic movies and listening to pop standards from the '30's to the '50's. You know, the kind of sappy or romantic movie or song where the ending is seemingly always a happy one.... I guess growing up it was a form of escapism for me. Now, even though I am older and hopefully wiser, I still enjoy this part of my childhood. Let me tell ya, if Doris Day comes on the tv or radio, everything else just has to stop for a moment. It doesn't get much gayer than that! lol
I recently started attending St. Gabriel's Community Church in Tyler, and I must say the welcome could not have been warmer or more loving. I came to the conclusion that I need to get my relationship with God back on track, and I know in my heart that God has led me to St. Gabriel's for just that purpose.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you and (OKAY GUYS, ALL TOGETHER NOW) ♫♫ getting to know you, getting to know all about you....♫♫
Much love,
Nathan
