Aside from news, I normally don't bother watching most mainstream network television programming. These days especially, I'm certain that I can feel my IQ shrinking as the minutes pass. The season finale of Extreme Makeover has, however, caught my attention. In this episode, the team makes over a home for an upstate New York family with two adopted sons living with HIV. Sunday, 7 pm CST.

Extreme Makeover Season Finale

I watched this episode and it just tugged at the heartstrings to see this single mom (with one biological son) have so much love and compassion to adopt 3 children into her family - 2 of which are living with HIV and one of those is also autistic. She was also going to school to earn a degree in education. Much admiration goes out to her.
Each time a man stands for an idea, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends a tiny ripple of hope. Those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
