DEPRESSION DVD

Postby Steve Cantrell on Thu Nov 29, 2007 1:31 pm

What is wrong with me?
I cry like an idiot over everything I see.
Little things that don't really matter often bother me.
I called a depression hot line I saw on TV.
Instead of caring they tried to sell me a DVD.
Everything and everyone is just after money.
If it wasn't so tragic it would be funny.
Nobody cares about anyone else.
They cant love me if they cant love them self.
So I called the depression hot line I saw on TV.
The greedy non caring bastards tried to get my little money
by hocking a stupid DVD!

I wrote this on Feb. 12, 2006. Needless to say, I got by without the help of the DVD!!!

Depression DVD

:( yeah you're right --it would be funny if it weren't so sad--just one more thing to get sad about--being exploited for money over some self-help dvd and no one to really talk to --just people ready to take your credit card number and send you happiness on dvd... Jeez..i really like the flow of the poem too...bobbette

Steve friend, Eros is right on, I agree. The irony is sad but the scene set is hilarious. Yeah, Seinfeld-ish maybe, but even more slap-stick types come to mind--Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason--lord, even Jack Benny. Your pome quietly projects the tragedy of the human comedy & the comedy of the human tragedy. Thanks, Steve.

Cheers, love, joy, peace, & slainte,

Tan/Tom
