The US ranks 37th in the world for health care, and we pay the highest for it. I am amazed at the misinformation, distortions, and outright lies that are being spewed to stop health care reform. The bill is online - read it, I have. We need a public option now!

However, for those who don't like facts getting in the way, you don't have to worry. Our representatives in Congress, and our Texas Senators, are working hard to make sure that we continue to pay the highest price for health care. They are doing everything they can to make sure insurance companies, not your doctor, decides what procedures you can have and how much of it they will pay for. Our representatives (mostly Republicans and a few Democrats )are paid thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars by insurance and pharmaceutical companies to make sure reform does not cut into their profits.
If nothing is done, costs will continue to sky rocket and more Americans will be without health coverage.

Read the bill. Cut through the lies and get to the facts. Your furture health may depend on it.

Follow up- Letter

A Mr. Allen Locher, August 21, took issues with a letter I wrote on health care reform. Apparently he feels it is okay for elected officials to accept thousands and thousands of dollars from insurance and pharmaceutical companies to kill legislation that would benefit the people of this nation.

He also questioned the ranking of the US at 37 in the world for health care. That fact comes from the World Health Organization and is easily accessible online.

He also talks about "diversion" as a liberal ploy. Conservatives have perfected it, Mr. Locher. The people disrupting the town hall meetings are conservative whipped into a frenzy by Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News and other conservative speakers. Many have ties to insurance and pharmaceutical companies, AND the Republican Party. This has been documented on CNN, MSNBC, and factcheck.org to name a few.

Today, conservatives are using misinformation, distortion, fear, and out right lies to "divert" intelligent dialogue on health care. They are sacrificing the good collective health of the nation for political ends.

For the past 12 years (either Congress or the Presidency)conservatives have been in control of our country. We have witnessed the absolute best conservatives can give us - war, economic collapse, corporate greed, unemployment, sex scandals (my favorite), hypocrisy on a scale I never thought possible, corruption, massive debt and George W. Bush.

President Obama inherited all of this from conservatives on January 20, 2009.

You can blame liberals for this mess, Mr. Locher, it has conservative stamped all over it. That's a fact.
