Christmas Party for kids - How you can help

Postby tcarlyle on Sat Oct 24, 2009 4:42 am

The following is from Father Tom Jackson. Please condider helping this year!

Gentle Ones,
THIS IS IT!
For the
SEVENTEENTH YEAR,
the
Order of Christian Workers
will be providing the
ANNUAL CHILDREN’S
CHRISTMAS PARTY
for
OVER 400 KIDS!

Homeless kids, terribly poor kids, sick kids,
scared kids, immigrant kids, hoping kids…
in other words,
kids who don’t “qualify” for other
agencies’ programs.
SO…SIMPLY:
IT’S UP TO YOU!
Just think of it:
you get to provide “Santa gifts”—
plus access to new clothing, shoes,
and added presents—
simply by “adopting” one or more children…
and you can provide some
holiday family meals as well!
Attached to this email is the
2009 ADOPTION FORM
which you can print and return to us,
by postal mail or e-mail.
If you wish further information on the Party,
please go to “The Children” page on our website:
http://www.orderofchristianworkers.org/thechildren.html
where you will also find the
PayPal “donation button”
in the middle of the page
(in case you wish to donate by
PayPal or credit card).
[all donations are tax-deductible within the law]

If you would like to see photos of
last year’s wonderful pandemonium,
simply go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/ocw
and click on the
“Annual Children’s Christmas Party” album.

PLEASE
help us again this year…it’s going to be
a tough one, considering the
many new children
who need to know that they’re not alone!
(and it would be wonderful if you chose
to forward this message to family
and/or friends!)

Many, MANY
THANKS
for your continued kindness and grace.

Love & Blessings,
Fr. Tom Jackson
and all the Party volunteers and elves

Subject: HELP! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED (please pass the word)

Well, gentle folks, it's that time again: LOTS of gifts to wrap for the kids at the Christmas Party.
The first "wrapping days" will be Saturday and Sunday, November 7 & 8, 1-5 each day, if folks are available.
The second days will be two weeks later: on Saturday and Sunday, November 21 & 22, 1-5 each day, if folks are available. After those days, we should have a good idea about how many more gifts we need to buy (on the Friday after Thanksgiving) and wrap.
We're going to have the actual wrapping this year in Grace House (our house) in order to make things more comfortable for you good people!
So...please let us know if you and/or friends can show up for any of those times...and we'll just DO IT!
Great thanks,
Padre
