To Family and Friends of Michael Harrell
Micheal and I need you help. Michael is in jail at Smith County. There was an incident at the Brookshires on Hwy 155, in Flint, TX. He had gone in to cash a check and one of the Asst. Managers would not cash the check, apparently because he knew Michael was gay. Michael got upset and as he was leaving the store he picked up a rosebush and put it in the car.

As he was pulling out of the parking spot and started to drive off the Asst. Manager and another employee was not near his car. Instead of filing charges of shoplifting (which is what they should have done), they filed charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, 2 counts!

We think these charges should not be filed like that. They should just be for shoplifing.

Just think, if this can happen to Michael, this could happen to any of us. We are asking for people to send complaints to Brookshires in his defence. What they are doing to him is unfair. So, please just think about it. If this was you wouldn't you want the public to know what is going on and ask for help in your defense.

Please drop the charges against Michael Harrell. He picked up a plant, but was not violent in any way. We will not tolerate this kind of discrimination against a person because he happens to be gay. Trumped-up charges are the worst kind of treatment of your customers. We expect better treatment from a store like Brookshires. Please don't disappoint us!
