A Presidential Candidate's views on HIV/AIDS

Postby Eric on Sat Dec 08, 2007 12:09 pm

Since this is HIV related, I'll post this here. I didn't see a forum marked "politics."

I was flabbergasted at last month's poll here at tridd.com that asked which candidates people are supporting. What surprised me was that a few people ticked the box marked "I'm voting Republican." Now, I'm not so naive as to think everyone can, does or even should view things my way. What puzzles me though, is how people in our community (or our friends and family) can support candidates who belong to a party that long ago declared war on us.

Here's a sample of what your Republican vote will do for the LGBT community.

Eric, if you will go to Activism and down 10 topics, you will see a lively discussion on the candidates and their stances on HIV. As for the voting on Repugs, I think some of our Repug friends have found tridd and are helping that statistic!!!

Blessings,
Gerry

Eric, a few years back (when Bill Clinton first ran)a close friend told me he was voting republican. I informed him of how the republican party viewed us. But he was set on his decision. He has since then changed his mind especially when Bush Jr. took office and disapointment ran amok in his political thinking. Gay Republican that is about as silly as a flame retardant match stick in my opinion.

Like Boy George said " A gay republican makes about as much since as a vegetarian butcher". Maybe we should find a deserted island and put all the Hucksters on it and they can frolic on the sand and feel superior ...
